We did it – we launched Off 6 in style last night!
It was an intimate gathering and had just the right tone: good food and drink (coconut-chocolate macaroons to die for!), friends, the building of community, and the sharing of words and ideas. If you were there, thanks for coming out to enjoy and share. If you missed it – I hope you’ll come next time and spread the word to your friends, family and colleagues! I’m already lining up headliners for October’s event and getting excited.
A big thank you to Beverly Freeman (she’s the one in the blue shirt signing a copy of her book, The Book of Whispers) for being our inaugural headliner. Thanks to Selmin Gulunay for being our inaugural open mic poet. And a huge thanks to Namita and her crew for hosting us, making all the delicious food, and making the lovely signage for the front. My white board writing is definitely not as pretty.
So, mark your calendars for Tuesday, October 11 7-9pm. Start scribbling in your notebooks or tuning your guitars. Can’t wait to hear what you have in store for us next month!
