The second event in the Off 6 series is scheduled for Tuesday, October 11 from 7-9pm, so mark it down in your calendars!
I’ve just confirmed a headliner for the event, Debbie Frontiera, an award-winning multi-genre author who splits her time between Houston and Michigan. This will be her first public event in the area this fall, so come out and hear her read a selection from her recent works. She will have books for sale and says she accepts credit cards, cheques, and cash.
I hope you’ll also consider bringing some of your own words or music to share during the open mic portion of the evening. It is a warm, encouraging environment where you’ll get the laughs and cheers and applause that you need to keep nurturing your creativity. You may, in true coffee house style, even get some of those jazzy finger snaps. And I still have some prizes to give away to performers!
And, as I reassured one person this last week, we will absolutely not force you to get up and perform anything. If you want to sit back, relax, drink a beverage and eat some snacks while encouraging the artists, that is just fine. It can be your date night. It can be your way of ‘getting cultured’ (as they say). It can be a way to fill your belly and your soul while meeting some new friends and helping to build a sense of community.
So c’mon out!
